I had the pleasure last week to have dinner at one of the most stylish, elegant and posh rooftops in Lebanon – SYDNEY’S – at Le Vendôme Beirut.
SYDNEY’S is not just an ordinary rooftop, it has a panoramic view across Beirut’s famous corniche, and of course the lovely view of the Mediterranean sea.
When we reached there, we were welcomed warmly and guided to our table, that was right next to the window, where you can see all the lovely view outside.
When coming in, we couldn’t but notice the warm and cozy renovated interior, that was dominated by the color Red. You might get shocked a bit at the beginning because you’re not used to it, but this bold accent of red creates a noble atmosphere with passionate luxury adding warmth to the place.
After the wonderment phase and taking pictures, it was time to choose what to eat. It was very hard to choose from the wide menu they’ve got, we got lost between the stylish appetizers, the salads, steaks, burgers, fish… you name it!
So we ordered several items, so we can share and taste as many dishes as we can, and believe me, it was an outstanding culinary experience.
By the time the food was served, we enjoyed the original snacks, the olive with the cherry tomato, cucumbers and carrots with the yummy sauce and bread sticks…
We started by the white fish cakes garnished with cucumber and carrots, a new and original idea for serving fish, then we had the Spicy Tuna Tacos, another seafood item with a twist, then we had the Sydney’s Burrata, it was the first time I taste this delicious Italian cheese and the mix with the tomatoes and olive oil was amazing.
It was time to move to the salads, we tried at first, the healthy quinoa salad with baby shrimps, that added an exotic flavor to the salad, and we moved after to the famous Cesar Salad.
Then we drooled over the heavenly juicy and tender bite-sized Sydney’s burgers that were fixed by a pearl stick (Talk about food and jewelry 😉 ) and the lobster burger, with the fantastic fries, and the last salty item was the exquisite Sydney’s club made with cereal bread.
After a small break, we had to taste the succulent desserts advised to us by the pastry Chef Pierre Abi Haila, the scrumptious apple crumble, the angelic master piece crème brûlée and the assorted fruit salad.
We couldn’t stop eating, for the food and atmosphere was so magical and tempting…
It was great pleasure to meet the executive chef Georges Mansour and the Pastry Chef Pierre Abi Haila, and put faces for the creators behind all those tasty dishes
